| Dear Friend, As we move into a season of gratitude, I continue to be moved by the steady resilience of the individuals we serve. This month, we honor survivors like Dora, whose courage to start over again mirrors the strength of so many families who walk through our doors. Her story reminds us how life-changing it can be for someone to find safety, support, and an advocate who believes in them. We also celebrate the moments that community support makes possible, like our recent naturalization workshop, where we served 16 clients. Thanks to the Texas Bar Foundation’s generous support of our Deportation Defense Program, we are able to stand beside more families across Texas who urgently need access to skilled legal protection. These milestones may appear small, but together they show how compassion, partnership, and persistence create real change one person at a time. As Giving Tuesday approaches, I invite you to stand with us in supporting immigrant survivors seeking safety, stability, and the chance to rebuild their lives, just as Dora is doing today. Your generosity fuels the legal representation, advocacy, and hope that make stories like hers possible because Justice Begins With You. Donate. Volunteer. Speak up. Your generosity keeps this mission alive. With Gratitude, Joy Green Executive Director Justice for all Immigrants |
| | Courage to Begin Again: Dora’s Freedom from Abuse After years of fear and isolation, Dora* found the courage to escape an abusive relationship and rebuild her life. With the help of a compassionate colleague, she came to Justice for all Immigrants (JFAI), where our attorney assisted her in filing a Violence Against Women (VAWA) case and applying for permanent residency. Today, Dora has work authorization, a stable job, and is providing for her twins on her own while her case is still pending. Her story is one of courage, survival, and the power of community. This Giving Tuesday, you can stand with survivors like Dora as they fight for safety, stability, and a chance to begin again. | | | | JFAI Receives Funding from the Texas Bar Foundation Justice for all Immigrants (JFAI) is proud to announce that we have been awarded an $8,000 grant from the Texas Bar Foundation to support our Deportation Defense Program. This funding will strengthen our ability to provide high-quality immigration legal services to individuals facing removal and unable to afford an attorney. With this support, JFAI will continue providing direct representation, legal advocacy, and community outreach in Houston and San Antonio, ensuring that vulnerable immigrants have access to due process, safety, and a fair chance to remain with their families. Reflecting on the grant, Executive Director Joy Green shared, “This support helps us stand beside families during some of the most difficult moments of their lives. We are grateful for the Foundation’s investment in protecting due process.” |

| | Naturalization Workshop Helps Houstonians Take the Next Step Thank you, Houston! Our Naturalization Workshop on November 15 was a great success. We welcomed 16 attendees seeking assistance with their naturalization (N-400) applications. Hosted in partnership with India House Houston, Harris County Housing and Community Development (HCD), and Harris County Precinct 4 Commissioner Lesley Briones, the workshop brought together community partners committed to expanding access to free, high-quality immigration legal services. JFAI Staff Attorney Esther Oni, who led the event, reflected on the impact of the day: “Every person who came in was taking an important step toward becoming a U.S. citizen. Being able to guide them through that process is truly meaningful.” We are grateful to everyone who attended and to our partners who made this workshop possible. We look forward to offering more opportunities like this in the months ahead.
